Metrolink: check access without steps before travelling

Several elevators on the Metrolink network are unavailable this Monday, October 5, with significant consequences for travellers with reduced mobility, the elderly and families using a stroller.

Work and breakdowns on several lines

In Hollinwood and Freehold, the replacement of the elevators serving the docks to Rochdale begins today. TfGM indicates that each replacement should last about two months. The lifts on the docks to Manchester remain open, but the Freehold parking area becomes unavailable during the work.

Other breakdowns were still displayed early this morning. Failsworth had no access without steps, while elevators were reported out of service at Piccadilly, Sale, West Didsbury and Queens Road. In Piccadilly, travellers can use the elevators located in the train station.

As the situation can change quickly, it is necessary to consult the Bee Network alerts just before departure. Travellers requiring an accessible route can call the Metrolink contact centre at 0161 244 1000, open today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
